Vision

An accessible recreation area for our community

Project Features

Please note that all numbers referenced in the descriptions below align with the numbered features in the illustration above.

(1) Site Entrance & Parking

The CORA entrance will include signage and an information kiosk (16). Site parking for CORA will be on the west side of the site and will include two accessible parking spaces (14). The parking lot will be paved. Motion sensor operated lighting will be added during Phase III (15), hopefully powered by solar electricity (currently 10), although the location of the solar canopy has yet to be finalized (could also be on the pavilion roof).

(2) Walking Trail

The walking trail will be built around the perimeter of the CORA site with benches and exercise stations located periodically (12). The walking trail will be ADA-compliant allowing everyone to enjoy the gardens and a tree grove on the eastern part of the site (17).

The picnic shelter will be an open pavilion, providing shade and cover when needed for small and large groups. There will be picnic tables in the pavilion and a nearby BBQ grill on the open lawn (13). The pavilion will be easily accessible from the parking lot.

(3) Pavilion

(4) & (5) Horseshoe & cornhole pitch and a bocce ball court

Enjoy horseshoes and a game of cornhole on the pitch that will be built in the open area close to and east of the pavilion. A Bocce ball court will be located in the space between the open picnic area and the wind turbine and gardens.

(8) Pollinator Gardens

Pollinator gardens with walking paths and flora identification labels around the existing wind turbine area and along the walking path will provide a beautiful and educational element to CORA. The existing shed, outdoor kitchen, and outdoor garden will be preserved for continued use by the school (6) & (7).

(9) Pickleball & Tennis Courts

Enjoy a game of pickleball or tennis with your neighbors. Tennis and pickleball balls, pickleball paddles, and portable pickleball nets will be available for use in a nearby storage box. It is hoped that in Phase III of the project, lighting will be added to the courts for evening play (15).
